Top 10 Most Popular Optional Subjects in Civil Services Examination 2015 (Candidates Appeared)

Geography continues to be the most preferred subject among the optional subjects chosen by the candidates in Civil Services (Main) Examination 2015. History grabbed second spot leaving behind Public Administration and Sociology in top 10 list.

In new environment when candidates were to pick only ‘One’ optional subject, Geography, History, Public Administration and Sociology were the most preferred optional subjects in Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2015.

Top 10 Optional Subjects with highest number of candidates recommended in Civil Services Examination 2015

A glance at the data emerging from recently released 67th Annual Report of UPSC clearly indicates the top 10 optional subjects that helped candidates to crack Civil Services Examination 2015.

The list has all popular names of optional subjects that occupied the top 10 list; it displays similar name as figured in CSE 2014; but, fortunes of many candidates appeared with these optional subjects have changed dramatically.

In his second attempt, Shreshth Tayal has secured 73rd rank in Civil Services Examination 2017.

Earlier also, he had held All India Ranks 20 in both CA Final and CS Final examinations.

He has made a unique service preference of not opting for IAS, IPS & IFS and giving first preference to IRS (IT).
