At last, some positive news emerge at the appropriate time giving Civil Service Examination aspirants enough space to prepare according to the proposed changes in Preliminary Examination pattern.
Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Prithviraj Chavan, told Lok Sabha on March 10 that the union government has decided to replace existing Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination with proposed Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT) which was recommended by UPSC chairman Professor D.P. Agrawal, last year.
Once it is disclosed, next move may be expected later to recommend the changes in the Civil Service (Mains) Examination scheme.
It has been high on UPA government’s agenda to reform the recruitment process for Civil Services and the first such big step is expected to come into effect from 2011.
The details are yet to be announced and suggest it may take another 2-3 month to finalize the contents of the proposed papers.
