Marks secured by Top 4 Ranks in Civil Services Examination 2015

The Mark-Sheets of the candidates are keenly followed by the aspirants and distribution of marks in various papers is point of consideration that gives valuable insight about toppers’ performance and what worked for them in getting top ranks.

Comparing marks of topper reveals the difference of marks that helps them emerge on top.

As has been observed, difference of marks in top few ranks is more and leaving aside top ranks, the difference goes down and we find many candidates having similar aggregate.

As such the motivation comes from toppers marks and accordingly candidates set an aim to reach the level somewhere near that target.

The marks break-up of top 4 ranks in Civil Services Examination 2015 gives a view about their performance in each paper in written as well as marks secured in Interview.

Tina Dabi (AIR 1;CSE 2015) has secured 1063 marks and has been able to get very good marks in each paper.

She scored 424 marks in General Studies out of 1000. In optional subject, she got 299 marks and Essay fetched a decent 145 marks.

Athar Aamir (AIR 2; CSE 2015) has amassed an aggregate of 1018 marks and has difference of 45 marks with Tina Dabi.

While both Tina and Athar got almost similar marks in Essay and General Studies; it was score in optional subject that helped Tina take invincible lead to grab the top slot.

From the table it is evident that to take hold of second rank Athar got good support from all papers except Optional subject that alone created the gap of 41 marks. However, if you look at the kind of marks Athar managed to get (258 marks) in optional subject (Philosophy) is considered to be a very good score.

So, it is all about your holistic performance and you never know what contributes more in your final result.

Jasmeet Singh Sandhu (AIR 3; CSE 2015) obtained almost similar marks as Athar got in written while interview performance fetched him 190 marks that helped him secure third rank.

A glance at Artika Shukla (AIR 4; CSE 2015) aggregate shows she score a little more than Athar Amir and Jasmeet in written examination; but, comparatively lower score in Interview she was pushed to 4th place in the marit-list.

For Civil Services Examination 2015, the cut-off for final selection has been 877 out of 2025 total marks (For General Category candidates).
