A total of 910 candidates have been recommended for appointment for the posts of IAS, IFS, IPS, IRS and other Central Services for which the examination process started with the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2011 which was conducted on 12th June, 2011.
For CSE 2011, there were a record number of 4,72,290 applicants for this examination, out of which 2,43,003 candidates have actually appeared.
For the Main (written) Examination only 11984 candidates were declared qualified which was held in October-November, 2011 .
Based on Civil Services (Main) Examination written result, out of them 2417 candidates were selected for the Personality Test conducted in March-April, 2012.
There were 1001 reported vacancies for Civil Services Examination 2011. Vacancies unfilled presently are on account of 91 reserved community candidates qualifying on general standards. Depending on the options exercised by them finally, these vacancies will be filled by candidates recommended for the Reserve List that is maintained by the Commission.
