Don’t Underestimate The Importance Of Score Attached To ‘Interview’

Reaching Interview level is no small feat and candidates make full advantage of their knowledge, confidence and presentation techniques to impress Interview Board. Many do it successfully and score very high marks and ensure positive outcome.

Many look at the 300 marks attached to Interview as it is a small contribution to total of 2300 marks on the basis of which overall result is prepared. No doubt, 2000 marks allocated to written examination matters a lot as your knowledge is tested with a well structured written examination.

A brilliant performance at Mains level always puts you in comfortable position. Before declaration of final result, you don’t know your total marks but an estimation of your effort and good show at Mains level gives you comfort and assures that the goal is within reach. It fills a true feeling of a winner and that reflects in your act during interview.

As the Mains (Written) result reveals, a large gap in aggregate of marks is seen among candidates called for interview (Personality Test). Analyze the marks gap and you will find that on an average 7-8 candidates find themselves hanging on one aggregate. And this is the catch:

  • Good performance in Interview can help you get a place in the merit-list.
  • More important, high marks in Interview can get you among top few which ensures you get the desired job - IAS.

It is extremely difficult to score more than 55-60% marks in Mains Written examination but in interview, you can spot good number of candidates who amass 70-80% easily. So, extra marks secured in Interview would help you get better of others.

Lady luck is knocking your door; don’t let this opportunity slip out of your hands. So, be ready to bring out the best in you.
